About the Owner

Anthony L. Campbell

I am the owner of The Computer Guy, Inc.  I started this company in 2003.  It was, and still is, my purpose to provide top quality technical services for my customers.  I do not approach my customers in the typical manner.  If I do not know how their business operates, and how they create revenue, then I can not effectively support their needs.   It is for this reason that I spend time listening and learning about my customers.  This allows me to be helpful not only with repairs and upgrades, but also permits me to make suggestions that may improve profitability.

I graduated from The Citadel in 1987 with a BS in Computer Science.  I then proceeded to become a database programmer in industries including communications, manufacturing, distribution and data collection.  The applications that I developed were written  to run on the leading networking system of the day, Novell NetWare.  As I was developing applications for NetWare, I decided to learn about the systems for which I was writing.

I was certified as  NetWare Engineer in 1991, and have maintained that certification through all subsequent updates.  I started working more with the networking systems and less with the programming.  I became the Network Administrator for a national manufacturing and distribution company.  This introduced me to the world of Wide Area Networks.

Since 1996, I have been a consultant in Local and Wide Area Networking, managing the Information Systems for large, medium, and small companies.  I have acquired training in communications systems from Cisco, Nortel and HP.  I have supported networks in single locations, to networks that span the country.  I have been involved in all aspects of needs determination through procurement and implementation.

In 2003, I started my own company with the intent to partner with small organizations that have active systems needs, but without enough demand to justify their own technology staff.  I provide support for some customers on an "as needed" basis.  Other customers have a regular schedule of visits, either weekly or bi-weekly.  It depends on the needs of the customer.  These customers have the benefits of a highly trained and experienced network administrator, without the cost of keeping one on staff.

I reiterate that this company is not just a break-fix company.  We realize that helping our customers grow will result in growth for our company.  We focus on helping our customers make smart, cost-effective decisions that result in increasing our customers' profits.

I look forward to having a chance to prove our dedication to your company.
